SPIRITUAL FOCUS: GOD'S CHOICE.
The message of "God's choice" gives many people confusion. This is what Paul talked about in today's reading, that is, how God chose Jacob and left Esau. Today, like in Paul's time, some people see no point in preaching for people to repent because in their understanding, God has already chosen those He wants.
We should not think this way because the mind of God is beyond our understanding. But it is useful to know that God knows everything, even He know the and from the beginning. He knows those who will believe in Him and those who will not.
Despite this, He gave us the task of proclaiming the gospel because it is good to tell everyone the story of His salvation because we do not know who will ACCEPT or REJECT. Though there are those who oppose the gospel of Christ and are even killing His followers as Saul (Paul) did; this should not be a reason for us not to preach the gospel to them saying that these people are not God's chosen ones.
We do not have this knowledge except God Himself. If we refuse to preach and these people die in their sins because we think they are not the chosen ones of God, He will be angry with us. See Paul who persecuted the followers of Christ, but the Lord turned him to be His saint, a great witness of the good news of salvation.
As for us, we should do what God expects us to do – preach to all men, and leave the rest to Him.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: God does not discriminate.
PRAYER: O Lord God, I am begging You, help me to KNOW that You have chosen me to witness to the world the salvation that You have blessed me with, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
