ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET FRIDAY 23RD JUNE, 2023

TEXT:NAHUM 3: 12-19

SPIRITUAL FOCUS: NINEVAH'S DECEIT IS OVER.

The Lord God gave the prophet Nahum a vision of the fall of Nineveh because of its sins. Nineveh was filled with wickedness and ungodliness.

Today, in the reading, the Lord decided that because of evil, Nineveh will seek refuge in the presence of her enemies but they cannot help her. She must inevitably enter into the judgment of the Lord. If God decides to punish a nation, nothing can stop it unless they truly repent. 

At the time of Jonah, the king of Nineveh and his people and all the animals repented "every man according to his ways" (3: 8) and God intervened. 

Now, the city is once again engaged in these heinous acts. We should take care of our lives because the Lord does not delight in the disobedient, the fearless and the lovers of iniquity. 

They will all be judged. Brother, how do you feel about the way you live your life? Do you know that God's judgment is waiting for you if you do not repent? Today you have the opportunity to reconcile your relationship with the Lord, do not say until tomorrow, tomorrow may not be yours.

 The capital of Nineveh has been neglected, it has entered into God's judgment, do not allow yourself to enter into that kind of judgment. Brothers and sisters, let us pray for our country, which is full of evil and ungodliness. We claim to be religious because of all the churches and mosques around, but evil is growing every day. Murder, robbery, theft, adultery, fornication, hatred and so on have become the order of the day. Let us repent.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The wicked will face the wrath of the Lord.

PRAYER: Almighty God, I beg you to separate me from evil deeds so that I may escape your coming wrath, Amen.
