ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; MONDAY 26TH FEBRUARY, 2024.
TEXT: ROMANS 15: 7 - 13.
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS CHRIST LOVED US.
Yesterday, we were encouraged not to be selfish, but to do everything in humility. Today's lesson shows us to watch over each other as Christ does for us, watching over us every day. Love is an important thing that many people do not understand.
We know that HAPPINESS and COMFORT brings good relations and acceptance to people. For example, if a guest is invited, given a seat, water and food, if it is not cheerfully, such a guest will not be comfortable.
This brings out the common saying, "facial impression shows the state of the heart ". Our Lord Jesus taught us to accept each other as He accepted us. That's why every time we receive a guest, we should not think that we are receiving a person, no, it is God in the form of a person.
The Lord Jesus said "...he who receives me, receives him who sent me" (Lk. 9:48). Let's not forget the story of Abraham who welcomed three guests with cheerfulness and even served them. He did this without knowing that they were angels. Because of the good reception, the guests blessed him.
They assured him that his wife would give birth to a child, and so it happened. Let us welcome guests in our homes with a cheerful heart.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Kindness is a blessing.
PRAYER: O Lord God, I am asking you to give me the spirit of hospitality, cheerfulness and joy in the name of your Son Jesus Christ, Amen.
