ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; THURSDAY 22ND FEBRUARY, 2024.

TEXT: ROMANS 13: 1 - 14.

 

SPIRITUAL FOCUS: OBEDIENCE TO THE AUTHORITIES.

Today's talk about the rulers, that is, the authorities. All over the world it is God who places them and knows them and their existence. He made them for the welfare of the people. 

It is said to find some people who do not obey the laws established by the authorities. For instance, they often ride their vehicle without full documents prescribed by the authorities. Some people resort to short out to avoid buying the documents. 

This is not right according to the Word of God. Not only this, some people avoid paying taxes and schemes set by the government. Such people often fall into the hands of the authorities and suffer. 

The authorities should not be UNTRUTHFUL, that is selfishness, by refusing to mete out judgment against such people. Anyone who falls into the hands of the authority because of a crime he has committed should not say that he is being punished because he is a follower of Christ, no. 

We SHOULD follow the instructions of the government. AS LONG AS THEY ARE NOT AGAINST GOD. In all cases, let us be the LIGHT that the Lord Jesus Christ said to us. Let's allow the light to dispel DARKNESS from the face of the world. 

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Observance of the law will bring peace.

PRAYER: O Lord God, I am asking You to help those in power to FEAR You and do JUSTICE in everything in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
