ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; MONDAY 19TH FEBRUARY, 2024.
TEXT: JOB 2: 1 - 6.
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: PATIENCE BREEDS SUCCESS.
Yesterday we heard that Satan used the Serbians, thunder, storm, etc. to attack Job. Job was tested with his possession. But These happenings did not discourage him, therefore, God said the following concerning Job, "There is no other good and faithful person like him in the world.
He worships me, he is calm, he refuses to do any kind of evil..." (verse 3). Brothers, let us know that the devil is never tired. Today in our reading he said to the Lord, "a person can part with everything he has to save his life... and for the health of his body... he can openly insult you" (verse 4, 5).
Having said this, God, because he knew Job, gave Satan power over Job, but not to kill him (verse 6). The second test touched Job's personalty, namely: HEALTH and HIS MARRIAGE. Satan thought that the trial of diseases will make Job deny God, but that did not happen because God was with Job.
God is never tired, when He starts a thing. He sees to the end of what He set out to do. Sadly, today there are many followers of Christ who are impatient when faced with stress or hardship. Instead of asking for God's help and guidance, they run to witches and magicians.
This is the reason why they do not succeed like Job. Every time we face a problem, we should seek God.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: God is our helper.
PRAYER: O Lord God, I am begging You, give me a heart of patience like Job's, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
