TEXT: JOB 1: 6 - 8.
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: WICKED MEN, IN THE COUNCIL OF THE RIGHTEOUS.
Yesterday we heard that the Lord gave a testimony about Job because he is happy with his life of fear and had respect for Him. The devil, the enemy of God, is always not happy to see the children of God in fellowship with each other.
In today's reading, when the heavenly beings gathered before God as usual, the evil one was present. It is possible because he is also a servant of God. The Lord asked him, "What are you doing?" (verse 6), this shows that He did not trust him.
The devil did not have an answer to give, he was confused, so he said, "I am going to and fro all over the world" (verse 7). This shows that his worth has dropped, he has no more POWER. This is true because EVERYONE who is separated from God has no POWER to protect him. In other words, he has no one to assist him in life. Such a person is called a living corpse.
The devil appeared in the middle of God's angels though he was one of them, but because of his greed to be above God before he fell, he lost his place with the holy angels. His desire for greatness caused him to lose his status and God gave him a severe judgment.
Brothers and sisters, let's be careful so that greed and desire for worldly glory will not bring God's judgement on us and separate us from the Lord God.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: We should not consult with the wicked.
PRAYER: O Lord God, I am begging You, separate me from the enemies, protect me from them, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
