ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; THURSDAY 15TH FEBRUARY, 2024.
TEXT: JOB 1: 1 - 5.
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: A CLEANSING OFFERING.
The story of prophet Job is well-known because the Lord God testified that he is a perfect man, just and God fearing, even rejecting any kind of evil. To the Lord, prayer is not a strange thing to Job, because every day he makes petitions and offer sacrifices for his family because he loves them.
He used to do this because he thought that the children might have rebelled or sinned against God at the feast where they met. Not only this, they may have sinned through words, thoughts and actions. It will be useful for us if we imitate the behavior of this servant of God.
God will surely bless us with the family he has given us. Brothers and sisters, let us know that the greatest task that God has given unto us is to bring up our children in the love and fear of God; this is our responsibility as parents.
It is a pity that some parents do not take care of their children 's spiritual life. This makes it difficult to live in some families. God's word commands us to take care of our children so that they know God and fear Him, honor and respect Him in their lives.
Let us pray for them whether they are at home with us or in a different place. If we fail to do so, they will rebel AGAINST God, and bring shame to Him.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Taking care of the family is our responsibility.
PRAYER: Oh Lord God, I am begging you, help me to take care of my family so that You can be glorified, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
