Church leaders have raised prayers unto God for King Charles III, has he was diagnosed with cancer a week after being discharged from hospital for prostate surgery.
In a statement made by Buckingham Palace, it revealed that the cancer was discovered during a “procedure for benign prostate enlargement” causing lot of reactions from church leaders.
According to the palace, the King has been advised by doctors to do away with public activities for now.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual,” the statement shared by The Royal Family said.
“The king remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”
The United Kingdom Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, said, “Wishing His Majesty a full and speedy recovery.
“I have no doubt he’ll be back to full strength in no time and I know the whole country will be wishing him well.”
Justin Welby, the archbishop of Canterbury and most senior cleric in the Church of England who sent his prayers and wishes to the king said;
“I’m praying for the King and his family — for God’s comfort and strength in the weeks and months to come. I wish His Majesty a swift and full recovery.”
Archbishop of York Stephen Geoffrey Cottrell said; “praying for His Majesty the King and all the Royal Family.
“May he and all who suffer with cancer know the healing presence of God’s love,” he wrote.
“Praying for His Majesty for his treatment and the Royal family as they support him,” Bishop of London Sarah Elisabeth Mullally said.
