ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; FRIDAY 5 JANUARY, 2024
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: REPRIMANDED FOR DISHONESTY.
TEXT: PSALM 82: 1-8
If we observe today's reading, the main thing that God wants for the Israelites is justice and equity. The sad thing is that they failed to do so. Instead of doing the truth, they went contrary and became more skilled in dishonesty and injustice than their neighbors. They oppress orphans and widows, and treat the poor and needy with oppressive trials. They derived joy in dishonesty and there is no fear of God in their hearts.
Today, brothers, there is no doubt that we have these "ISRAELITES" in our country. In our courts, there is no fair trial, because many times the honest person is made a criminal, and the criminal is declared innocent. Rulers take advantage of the power. Even widows are not safe in the hands of these evil men. Brothers and sisters in Christ, let us stand up and be honest in everything.
Let the world not deceive us, let us know that we are its salt and light (Mat. 5:13, 14). This is the reason why the Lord left us alive, so we should shine and fight the darkness that has seems to envelope this earth. Let's pray for our leaders and judges to be honest and fair. We must not forget to tell the truth, we will surely face opposition from the oppressors, the wicked, and those who do not fear God; but we know that God will deliver us out of their hands.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
The truth will set us free.
PRAYER:
Oh Lord God, I am begging you, help me to be faithful and true always in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
