ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; THURSDAY 25TH JANUARY, 2024.
TEXT: LEVITICUS 2: 3 - 11.
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: THE GRAIN OFFERING.
Yesterday we heard about Burnt offering, today,it is about Grain offering. Whoever brings it, will bring it with an animal and flour that has not been mixed with yeast. He will bring these without hypocrisy or pride because God does not accept such.
Unfortunately, today there are followers of Christ who are hypocritical in their religious life. They are like people who are neither birds nor animals. Apart from flour, it must be mixed with oil and frankincense. This sacrifice is similar to what the Lord Jesus Christ did for our redemption.
The Frankincense brought by the wise men from the east given as a gift when they visited the swaddled baby (Matthew 2: 11), shows that the baby is a Priest. The sacrifice that Christ made is greater than all others in both the Old and New Testaments.
This is what gives us eternal life because besides this sacrifice of Jesus, there is no sacrifice left to save mankind. Brothers, it is good that we thank Jesus Christ for this. Unfortunately, instead of being grateful, we are doing Him wrong everyday.
This kind of grain offering presented, is a good offering and we should not forget that every time it is done, the priests have a share in it and no one complains about it. Brethren, when we bring our offering to the Lord,, we should not complain that it is the ministers of the Gospel that are eating it, no we did not bring it to them, but to the Lord.
The servants are only His ministers who benefit from it as deemed fit by the Church.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Jesus' sacrifice takes away all our sins.
PRAYER: Lord God, I thank You for the sacrifice that Jesus made on my behalf. Help me to be faithful in my walk with Him, Amen.
