ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; WEDNESDAY 24TH JANUARY, 2024.

TEXT: LEVITICUS 1: 1 - 9.

 

SPIRITUAL FOCUS: BURNT OFFERING.

The Word of God does not hide anything from us that the result of every sin is death (Rom. 6: 23). In today's reading, God explained to Moses what the children of Israel should do anytime they disobey His commands. This is a MUST so as to get rid of their dirt. 

The sinner will bring a healthy and unblemished animal. The priest will put his hands on it before he sacrifices it to the Lord on behalf of the person who brought it, then priest will burn the dead animal. 

Our brothers and sisters who are sinners are very privileged because the Lord God in His love and grace provided Himself with a sacrificial lamb on our behalf, that is Christ Jesus who gave Himself up on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. In this way, we are forgiven. 

Christ did not only save us, He is before God the Father interceding for us every day. Here we see that He is the only one who can do this because He is flawless. His sacrifice eliminates and replaces ALL other sacrifices. Unfortunately, today there are many people who do not understand this, let alone believe in it. 

It is very useful for us to surrender our lives to Him, and accept Him (Rom. 12: 1, 2). Because there is nothing we can do or pay for our sins more than what He did for us on the cross. He doesn't want anything from us except our hearts so that He can possess them.

PRAYER: Almighty God, thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ who gave Himself up for me. Receive praise and glory, Amen.
