ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; THURSDAY 18TH JANUARY, 2024.

TEXT: 1 JOHN 4: 7 - 21.

 

SPIRITUAL FOCUS: GOD IS LOVE.

In the Holy Book, there are many words about love, and how we should love those who oppose us because we belong to Christ. In today's study, John advises us to be rooted in love because God is LOVE. 

He loved us when we were sinners. That is why we should be rooted in Him and love Him with all our hearts. Then we should love our brothers as ourselves. If we love ourselves, but we don't love other people, our love is verbal, not God's. 

Perfect love for brothers and sisters is a sign of God's love because He created them in His likeness and image. Since God is LOVE, He expresses this by sending His Son so that we can have eternal life. Brothers and sisters, let us not be ignorant, there is no way we can have LIFE if we do not Christ Jesus who is the Life and the Way (Jn. 14: 6) to the Father. 

It is good for us to know that not everyone will get this life except the one who puts his hope in Christ. Therefore, while we are still alive, let us hand over everything to Him so that He can rule over us. If we accept this, then we know that we will be the ones to see the Father when we enter His Kingdom where we will live with Him forever.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Christ Jesus is our redeemer.

PRAYER: Oh Lord God, help me to know that You are LOVE, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
