Armed Men Set COCIN Church Ablaze In Plateau State As Religious Riot Breaks Out
A Religious riot broke out in Plateau state, Nigeria as the Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) has been set ablaze by mob.
According to reports, it was revealed that armed men has been attacking buildings and those perceived to be Christians.
A resident who was an eyewitness said the suspected mob who were armed came out from bushes to set the church ablaze.
“As we speak the COCIN Church near Sabon Kasuwa is on fire and they are advancing towards other churches in town,” she said.
According to her, there has also been pandemonium all round the community as residents are scampering to safety.
You’d also recall that The Christian Association of Nigeria led a protest over continuous killings in Plateau State and other parts of the country.
The protest, tagged “Plateau Peace Walk”, was led by the state CAN chairman, Rev Polycarp Lubo, ECWA President, Rev Dr Stephen Baba Panya, COCIN President, Rev Dr Amos Mohzo, Catholic Bishop of Jos, Most Rev. Mathew Audu, Methodist Bishop of Jos, Rev Nkechi Nwosu, among other prominent Christian leaders in the state.
