ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; TUESDAY 19TH DECEMBER, 2023.
TEXT: JEREMIAH 2: 20 - 37.
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: THE DISOBEDIENCE OF THE ISRAELITES.
Today the Lord revealed to the Israelites a message that He had sent to them through Jeremiah, concerning their separation from the worship of the living God.
They became involved in idolatry. A prostitute is a woman who divorces her husband or allows another man to do what only her husband has to do. This ugly behavior is disgusting and treacherous. The Israelites left Jehovah, they worshiped idols, so the Lord assured them that they would be put to shame.
He compared the shame that a thief feels when he is caught. The Lord knew that one day the Israelites would make a long trip to Egypt to get help. Even today there are "Israelites" who are prostitutes in their religious life.
Today are followers of Christ during the day, but at night they spend the night with Satan in the house of his agents. That is, witches, wizards, sorcerers, etc., dishonoring the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Because of the love of the world and its desires, they had turned to other forces in search for help where there was none.
They have forgotten that the pleasures of this world are not greater than the pleasures of heaven. And the world will pass away with all its vanity. Brethren, we can only get help from Jesus. Any help that Satan gives us is a sham, not a reality.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Christ Jesus is our helper.
PRAYER: Lord God, I beseech You, help me, to tell the world that You are the true Helper in the name of Christ Jesus, Amen.
