ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; FRIDAY 15TH DECEMBER, 2023.
TEXT: JOHN 13: 21 - 30.
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: JUDAS ISCARIOT BETRAYED JESUS.
Yesterday in the study the Lord Jesus did not hide anything from His disciples. He said to them, "He who eats my bread will rise up against me" (vs. 18).
In today's study he reiterates the statement, "One of you will betray me" (vs. 21). He said this because he felt sorry for Judas Iscariot who would commit this heinous act. The other disciples were so confused that they pressed Him to tell them who he was.
Jesus spoke to them by giving them a sign, but they did not understand until He said, ".... He is the one I will dip this piece of bread and give it to him (verse 26). When he had said this, he gave Judas a loaf of bread. Brethren, Jesus even knew His enemy yet, He showed him love by feeding him.
So, we His followers should do same. Even though the enemy attacks us in different ways and in different ways come against us, we should feed them and give them water (Rom. 12: 20). Sadly, Judas Iscariot hardened his heart, he didn't show any signs of repentance.
He was not bothered, he continued pressing by his efforts, to satisfy his desire of selling Jesus to His enemies. Unfortunately, today there are followers who do not see the glory of Christ Jesus, every day they sell Him to his enemies through the kind of life they lead.
That is, there is no difference in their lives and in the world. Brother, today if you recognize some of the activities that you do that are "selling" Jesus, then repent and adjust.
Do not let this opportunity pass you by like Judas Iscariot.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Today there is an opportunity to repent.
PRAYER: Lord God, I beseech You, keep me in Your love so that I may not sell Jesus by my life in the name of Christ Jesus, Amen.
