The International Christian Concern has ranked Nigeria among top prosecutors of Christians in the world in 2023.
The ICC has named Nigeria has one of the worst place for Faith Belivers to be, revealing it has dangerous.
“Nigeria is arguably the most dangerous place to be a Christian in the world today,” the report stated.
The organisation also claimed that extremists and militants have been killing Christians in the country and dispossessing them of their lands in the last 20 years.
It also revealed that various attacks has happened in the past four month, resulting to the death of at least 549 Christians.
According to the organization, the persecution of Christians in Nigeria has created great concern as terrorist groups such as Boko Haram, has been responsible for more than 38,000 deaths over the past 12 years.
“Whether the world acknowledges the plight of Nigerian Christians or not, the country has become a burial ground for Christians,” the report declared.
Reacting to the report, the Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Simon Dolly, said the persecution of Christians in Nigeria is an unfortunate circumstance that requires immediate attention.
He said: “The persecution of Christians in Nigeria is an unfortunate circumstance that requires immediate attention. Church leaders need to reconsider their indiscriminate visits to government officials as it diverts attention from the pressing issues that affect Christians and the Church.”
