ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET FRIDAY 20TH OCTOBER, 2023
TEXT: ROMANS 7: 14-25
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: THE ANXIETY CAUSED BY SIN.
In today's reading, the Apostle Paul tries to expose to the followers of Christ on how to overcome the flesh. He showed them all of us the consequences of following the law. So that we could understand what he was saying, Paul illustrated using himself how he tried using the law to stop sinning, but he could not.
He realizes that the flesh is evil and that it leads to death. There are times in life when a person wants to do what is right, but all his efforts will be in vain because of the physical condition of his body. His victory can only come through the power of Christ as Paul found out too.
Brethren, for success in life over the flesh, let us trust in Jesus Christ. Certainly, by our own strength or power, we cannot succeed in life, so surrendering ourselves to the Lord, will separate us from the power of the flesh.
Unfortunately, we often fall short of our goals because of physical weakness. Many times, we start to do good, but in our own strength we fail. It is good to know that without the Lord Jesus, we would not be able to do anything (John 15: 5), but only by the Spirit of the Lord (Zechariah 4: 6).
We know that sin easily entangles us, and that we need to submit to the Lord and pray for His deliverance from sin.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Our success comes only by the power of God.
PRAYER: Lord God, I beseech You, grant me victory over the flesh so that I may do Your will in Jesus’ name, Amen.

ABIN LURA: DAMUWA DA ZUNUBI KE KAWOWA.
Cikin karatun yau, Manzo Bulus ya kokarta gana da mabiya Almasihu yadda za su sami nasara akan mututaka. Ya nuna musu duk da mu irin abinda bin shari’a zai jawo domin su da mu mu fahimci abinda yake fadi Bulus ya yi misali da kansa yadda yake so ya daina yin zunubi, amma bai iya ba.
Haka yake ga shari’a, amma bai iya ba. Ya lura mutuntaka mumuna abu ne da yana kai mutum ga mutuwa. A cikin rayuwa akwai lokatai da mutum yakan so aikata abinda ke daidai, amma duk kokarinsa banza saboda halin jiki da yake mulkinsa yakan hana masa nasara. Nasararsa, sai ta wurin ikon Almasihu.
Yan’uwa domin nasara a rayuwa akan mutuntaka, mu dogara ga Yesu Almasihu. Babu shakka, da karfi ko ikon kanmu, ba za mu yi nasara a rayuwa ba, domin haka mu mika kanmu ga Ubangiji, za ya raba mu da halin mutuntaka.
Abin takaici sau dayawa mukan kasa cikin niyarmu saboda raunanar jiki. Sau da dama mukan fara aikin kirki, amma cikin ikon kanmu, sai mu kasa. Yana da kyau mu san in ba tare da Ubangiji Yesu ba, ba za mu iya yi kome ba (Yah. 15:5), amma sai da Ruhun Ubangiji (Zakariya 4:6).
Mu san aikata zunubi ba ya da wuya domin haka muna bukata mu mika wuya ga Ubangiji, mu yi addu’a domin samu nasara.
ABIN TUNANI: Nasararmu, sai ta wuri ikon Allah.
ADDU’A: Ya Ubangiji Allah, ina roko, ka ba ni nasara akan halin jiki domin in aikata nufinka saboda sunan Almasihu Yesu, Amin

15 I nor undastand wetin I dey do; bikos I nor dey do wetin I won really do. Instead na wetin I nor like, I dey do.
16 Since I dey do wetin I hate to do, e show sey di law dey korrect.
17 Nor bi mi really dey do wetin I dey do, but na di sin pawa wey dey inside mi.
18 I know sey wetin dey inside mi nor go let mi do good. Even wen I won do good, I nor dey fit.
19 Instead of make I do wetin dey good, na bad tins I dey do.
20 So if I do wetin I nor won do, e show sey nor bi mi dey do am again, but na di sin pawa wey dey inside mi.
21 So I si sey dis law dey work, bikos wen I won do good, na only bad tins dey enter my mind.
22 I dey like to obey God law with my whole mind,
23 but inside mi, I kon undastand sey sometin dey fight against my mind and e dey make mi bi sin savant, bikos e dey kontrol my body.
24 I nor dey happy at-all! Who go save mi from dis body wey dey push mi go die?
25 Tank God! Jesus Christ don save mi. So, I go obey God law with my mind, even doh sin pawa still dey inside mi.
