ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET; FRIDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER, 2023
TEXT: ROMANS 3: 1 - 8.
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: THE FAITHFULNESS OF THE LORD IS GUARANTEED FOREVER.
The Lord God is just and faithful. Therefore, wherever there is injustice, this is the work of man, not of God. In this study, the Apostle Paul showed the Romans, Jews and other Gentiles that the Lord is no respecter of persons. It is a pity that people have made the Jews greater than others.
Note that, God gave the Jews His word so that others can benefit, but the Jews did not obey, so everything that happened on earth was not God's fault. Sadly, today there are those who accuse God of doing wrong.
This statement is not true because even though the whole world lies, God's is true, faithful in all things. Today, it is the people's fault that they did not tell others what God had done for them. Spreading the message or failure to spread it does not diminish anything for God, but message of God must stand sure and true.
It is good to note that the Lord God in His righteousness does not force anyone to follow Him. If we look at the story of Adam and Eve, God did not make them sin. They chose to disobey him, leading them to fall away from the Lord Lord.
We must not accept the modern-day myth of deception. The Lord does not tempt anyone with sin, does not enjoy the death of the sinner, but rather longs for every sinner to repent and receive His mercy. Indeed, followers of Christ are truly privileged because in His righteousness and faithfulness the Lord has prepared the way for our salvation. Let us believe it today.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: God does not betray anyone.
PRAYER: Lord God, I beg You in the name of Christ Jesus to forgive me all my sin, Amen.
ROMANS 3: 1 - 8 (AMP).
1 Then what advantage remains to the Jew? [How is he favored?] Or what is the value or benefit of circumcision?
2 Much in every way. To begin with, to the Jews were entrusted the oracles (the brief communications, the intentions, the utterances) of God.
3 What if some did not believe and were without faith? Does their lack of faith and their faithlessness nullify and make ineffective and void the faithfulness of God and His fidelity [to His Word]?
4 By no means! Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar, as it is written, That You may be justified and shown to be upright in what You say, and prevail when You are judged [by sinful men].
5 But if our unrighteousness thus establishes and exhibits the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unjust and wrong to inflict His wrath upon us [Jews]? I speak in a [purely] human way.
6 By no means! Otherwise, how could God judge the world?
7 But [you say] if through my falsehood God’s integrity is magnified and advertised and abounds to His glory, why am I still being judged as a sinner?
8 And why should we not do evil that good may come?—as some slanderously charge us with teaching. Such [false teaching] is justly condemned by them.
