ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET WEDNESDAY 23RD AUGUST, 2023
TEXT:JOHN 3: 22-30
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: OUR LIFE IS IN THE HOPE OF HOS RETURN.
Today's words show the Lord filled John with the Holy Spirit because of the work He had entrusted to him. Whenever the Lord calls a person to work, He gives him a gift, a special ability to perform it. John in action did not fail to bear witness to Jesus Christ to those who came to him. In the reading, we see that the enemy, Satan, caused a controversy among Jesus' disciples about him.
Even today there are these kinds of disciples, the most reprehensible in our churches. As work progresses, Satan do incite His disciples to bring in different forms of controversies such as selfishness, hatred, ethnicity and so on. Even some leaders see themselves as those with the final say. they are full of pride and sel.
These kinds of "disciples" are often among the elders and leaders of the Church. When transferring employees to good workplaces, they only transfer the employee they want. In addition, they set up staff at their own place to meet their needs.
Every employee that is not in their team, will just be tossed here and there in transfer like a ball is played. Dear power-loving, position-loving leader, beware, because there is a day when you will be broken down.
The day your secret will be exposed. Because it is possible that Satan is now using you to destroy the Church of God, your God. Whatever you do, you must do put God first because, Jesus is coming soon.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Listen to God's voice.
PRAYER: Lord God, I beg you, help me not to be found among those who hinder the progress of your Church, in the name of Jesus I beseech, Amen.
JOHN 3: 22 - 30 (ESV).
22 After this Jesus and his disciples went into the Judean countryside, and he remained there with them and was baptizing.
23 John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because water was plentiful there, and people were coming and being baptized
24 (for John had not yet been put in prison).
25 Now a discussion arose between some of John's disciples and a Jew over purification.
26 And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you across the Jordan, to whom you bore witness—look, he is baptizing, and all are going to him.”
27 John answered, “A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.
28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him.’
29 The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.”
