ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET TUESDAY 22ND AUGUST, 2023

TEXT: JOHN 3: 16- 21

SPIRITUAL FOCUS: CHRIST IS ETERNAL LIFE.

In all humankind, no one wants to die, they even wish it does not exist. This is impossible. This is because from the day our parents, Adam and Eve, disobeyed the command of the Lord, they were destined to die (Heb. 9: 27). 

But because God is compassionate and gracious, He planned the salvation of mankind because He did not intend for them to be destroyed in their sins (Ezek. 18: 32), but to repent. That is why He sent Christ Jesus so that we might all have eternal life. Sadly, we do not accept Him, we continue to commit atrocities. 

Today because of the love of the Lord, we are admonished to forsake works and ways of darkness, and turn to Him while He is present (Ish. 55: 6,7). Let us be in the light of His Son, Jesus,so that people may see our good deeds and glorify His name (Matt. 5: 16). Brethren, it is time for us to let the world see that we are no longer living, but that Christ, who was crucified for us, lives in us (Gal. 2: 20). He the Eternal life. 

But if we do not let people see Him in our lives, our end will not be good, the fire of hell will be our reward. We must think carefully if we are to inherit the life that Jesus has in store for us.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: God is light.

PRAYER: Thank You, Lord God, for sending Jesus to save me. Receive praise and glory for His name's sake, Amen.

                         JOHN 3: 16 - 21 (ESV).

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.

20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.

21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
