Nigerian Idol Season 8 Winner Victory Gbakara Affirms Stance To Remain In Gospel Music
Victory Gbakara, the winner of Nigerian Idol season 8, in a recent interview disclosed he figured out his music path quite early and it is to remain a Gospel singer.
The young singer defeated various contestant to grab a huge prize of N35million, a brand new SUV and other prizes.
During the interview, the Nigerian Idol winner revealed why he has decided to continue as a gospel singer. He said;
“I feel like I want to do a lot of things, but definitely, you’re going to hear a lot of gospel because that is me: everything and lots of gospel. The best-selling part of any creative is originality. I don’t have to try my best to move with the trend. Although it is good as regards any industry.”
He disclosed that although he would be venturing more into the gospel side of the music industry, he intends to explore universal messages like love when creating music.
“I feel like I want to get to do everything as much as I can, but definitely you are going to be getting a lot of gospel,” he said.
The chorister turned Idol star noted that there is more to his sound beyond gospel music.
The young artiste joins the list of stars like Mercy Chinwo, who also won season two of the reality show on 8th April 2012.
Precious Mac, another Gospel singer and the first runner-up of the season, also revealed she has two EPs to her name and multiple singles and that she currently has some songs in the works that she would be releasing very soon.
