ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET TUESDAY 18TH JULY, 2023
TEXT: OBADIAH 19 - 21
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: ALL POWER BELONGS TO GOD.
Our study of Prophet Obadiah's writings today has finally come to an end with encouragement. That is, though the Edomites sinned, and the Lord was determined to destroy them, yet, there was hope for the remnant of Israel. The Israelites also sinned by breaking the law of the LORD; then Lord turned away from them, and they became slaves in the land that was not their own.
There they became slaves, enslaved by the inhabitants of the land for many years. Because God was gracious, He in His mercy promised to return them to their homeland to inherit His kingdom. The same is true today for anyone who strays from the Lord; the promises to bring him back into fellowship with Him if he genuinely repents.
Brethren, this promise is for those who believe in the Lord. Undoubtedly, He will save us, and with Him, we will judge every evil on the day that He comes back to judge the world. Then we will reign with Him in His eternal glory.
If this is to happen, we must rethink about the kind of life we live now. It is not right for us to be like the Edomites, who turned their backs on the Lord and disobeyed His commandments and were severely punished. Let us be determined to follow the Lord so that we may be counted with him among those who would inherit eternal life.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: A true believer will inherit God's kingdom.
PRAYER: Lord God, I beg You to allow me to be one of those who will rule with You in the name of Jesus, Amen.
