ERCC DEVOTIONAL (TEKAN) DAILY SPIRITUAL DIET WEDNESDAY 12TH JULY, 2023

TEXT: JUDGES 16: 20 -21

SPIRITUAL FOCUS: SEPARATION FROM THE LORD.

In yesterday's reading, Samson revealed the secret of his strength to Delilah. Today in our study she says to Samson, "Look, the Philistines are upon you" Samson woke up and said, I will go out as usual." He did not know the Lord had left him. 

The Spirit of God had departed from him. And when the philistines caught him, they brought him down to Gaza, they plucked his eyes and subjected him to grinding their corn. They did this in order to degrade him, to make him a shameful spectacle. Brethren, this is always the result of making friends with the world. 

Such friendship will cause the believer to lose his or her freedom and become a fool, a laughing stock, a disgrace to the Church of Christ. This is the great root of failure or humiliation that modern Churches have found themselves as they handed over themselves to the Devil for the love or affection of worldly things. These Churches have been turned to parks and leisure places. Places where repentance is not preached, except prosperity. 

It will be of great benefit to us if we observe the people we associate with, and the places we go to worship. Some of them are houses of the Devil, seeking prominence and wealth. Brothers and sisters, we should ask the Lord to help us and separate us from them.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: We should not love the world.

PRAYER: Lord God, I beg You to separate me from anything that will prevent me from doing Your will in Jesus name I ask, Amen.
