TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 4: 14-23
SPIRITUAL FOCUS: GOD IS THE PROVIDER.
Gifts from the Philippian church were a great help to Paul. We know this in today's study where Paul shows his gratitude. He did not despise what they did to him, not because of the money they sent, but because of their obedience to what the Lord had put in their hearts. Unfortunately, today there are some Church leaders who despise the help they receive. This is wrong because anyone who despises a gift is Thief and an ungrateful person to God who gives the gift. In the evangelistic work Paul did not rely on money, but on God who meets all his needs. Today there are some workers, evangelists, etc. who rely on money more than the Lord God who calls them to work. Sometimes they change their calling, leaving the Lord's sheep, to go to politics and a profession of place where there is money. They claim that the Lord has called them to the market, politics, etc. Here is the question, does the Lord God changer? Did He not know there is politics before he called you to work for Him? Paul showed the Philippians that Jehovah is a God who provides for all needs. Whoever God calls, if he is faithful, the Lord will not forsake him. Because of this understanding, Paul prayed for the Philippian Church, which is still in existence today, for the help they sent him, and wished them well; that his all-sufficient God should provide for all their needs. Dear followers of Christ, we know that God's riches in Christ Jesus are infinite. Therefore, there is no need for the Lord to meet all those who fear Him at the points of their needs. Let us have faith.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: God never fails.
PRAYER: Lord God, I thank you for knowing all my needs and your ability to meet them for me in Jesus’ name, Amen.
